Titre: Wave 6
Posté par: Syphwyn le Avril 24, 2008, 12:34:30
Found this while going through the French part of the Forum

Citation
The content of the wave 6 is this:

Westerners: Spadassins
Mercenaries: Gilles de Rais and Helle Moller
Lost: Etruscilla and Saurav Geet
Saracens: Jafar and Houri
Demons: Demons of flesh

Anyone got any ideas as to what Spadassins might be??

Spadassins are troupers for the Westerners army.

As basic warriors and refering previous packaging, we should find 2 miniatures into this extension box.

If memory serves me right, while the Spadassins were sword fighters they were also nasty buggers.  Think stereotypical highwayman/bandit.  As such, there is the possibility of them having some sort of pistol.

Find below the link to a translation I did for TGN a long time ago. It was the introduction of the mercenary faction

You should be interrested by the part describing Gilles de Rais.

Very nice bit of fluff that.

So I take it Gilles will be an officer for the merc faction then?

I don't suppose anyone could fill us in on what the various factions releases will be, so far we have

Spadassins - Soldier/Trooper
Gilles de Rais - Officer??

I have been lucky enough to be at the GenCon Paris this week end and I didn't miss this opportunity to discover the miniatures from the wage 6, including the Mourner

So now the official wave 6 is

Westerners: x2 Spadassins (troupers)

Mercenaries: Gilles de Rais (officer) and Helle Moller (independant)

Lost: Etruscilla (officer) and Saurav Geet (independant)

Saracens: Jafar (independant) and Houri (independant)

Demons: x1 Demon of flesh  (troupers) and x1 Mourner (independant)

Yes. I believe Geof had already mentioned it. The last wave will be a squamata and 4 mercs boxes.

Find bellow a link to a painting of Gilles de Rais.

Look at the picture showing a dark knight with the introduction Pour notre part, on n’est pas reparti les mains vides (enfin Haekel), puisqu’on a volé le trophée Asmodée, une imposante lithographie de Gilles de Rais :
It will give you a good idea of what the miniature will look like understanding the green is really similar.

http://haekel.free.fr/spip.php?article120

I have been lucky enough to see it during the French GenCon and trust me, from my point of view, it is definitevely the best miniature Asmodee has produced so far.

Jafar is the independant Djinn, who gets better as models on the board die. The Houri is a title, not a name - think harem girl.

Mathieu's Consolidated Orders/Auras thread has their details in it.

yeah ive been waiting for ages for him. he's going to be the default saracen beatstick me reckons (hopefully with intangible) and if his model is anywhere near as cool as chams then i'll be happy.

saracens i feel need a pure beatstick, the lancer fills this role to a degree but he lacks the ability to take the hits that get past his defense. want something along the lines of a grand dammed of wraths fighting prowess but obviously differant and a bit less straight forward. looking forward to him.  :D

Titre: Re : Wave 6
Posté par: Tobyn le Mai 03, 2008, 10:14:29
Hes not really a beat stick as he cant do anything until combatants start dying (then he gets perminant +1, but he starts at 0) He has regeneration, ricochet and intangible and is 24 pts.

Now the dancing girl is what looks good to me. Gains +1 CMD when a friendly non insignificant dies within 6" which is perminant, but also for 3 CMD she can cancel a models attack (then still get hit but ont fight back) cant remember if it unique but if its not the stick her in a high CMD army and get her to dance their best fighter out of the game. She also has charisma to make troopers better

The Houri were humans and jinn who entered paradise after being recreated anew and sensually perfect in the afterlife.

They are the actual manifestation of the pure physical pleasures of heaven.

No wonder the Houri in the game is as distracting as she is :D

now the thingy wit Guiles  he is a whooping 94 points  the 24 reinforment make him a 70 point  at the end but still  has he have no prestige  can only hire   merc...  the  idea is to load your  200 point with independents  and  select the cheaps troops  as reinforcment ...    merc have no independent under  24 points  so it will be quite  a challenge  to  fill those 24 points

spadassins   have  first strike  so it is a  chance they will  cause enoug damage before  start  dying away

Hey Guys,

New to the game and I've picked up all the Demon releases todate.

I checked out the wave 6 demon release - Demons: x1 Demon of flesh  (troupers) and x1 Mourner (independant)

I'm concerned  mixing troopers with independants.  If I want to run multiple trooper models I don't want to pay for multiple indpendant models that I cannot use or do  not want to field more than one....

How many Mourners can you field?

i dont think the demons of flesh and the mourner will be in the same box, independants and troopers so far come in seperate boxes, even if they do you could always split a box with someone or sell the unwanted stuff on ebay etc. this game is really popular and i doubt you would have any trouble finding someone to take them off your hands one way or another.

Every extension wave presented the same configuration: One box per faction.

Wave 6 will not be the exception to this rule so it is definitively confirmed: the Mourner and the Demon of Flesh will be into the same box regarless their relative rank.

You may argue there is a mix between independant and trouper into the same box (which is new). And you will be right. But you have to keep in mind these wave is supposed to be the last one for most of the factions and these two profils where the only still available for the Demons.

regarding the wave 6, I just would like to remind you this wave has been offcially delayed for many good reasons (the happiest one is the recent paternity of JAG and Thomas David, both sculptors and painters for this game).

It will be sold out end of August rahter than End of June as initialy planned.

Be also aware the wave 7 will be composed of 1 entexsion box for the Lost faction and four or five boxes (TBC) for the Mercenaries.  It will be the last one proposing profils from the current rulebook.

Hi Jim, be welcome. I think I read something from you on the Pulp City board...

As it was stated, you can field two mourners. As for the damned of flesh, you have to keep in mind that Hell Dorado is a skirmish game, and fielding more than 3 same troopers can be quite boring.

I hope you'll enjoy the game!

Besides, while the mourner is very powerful in an appropriate company, having 2 absolutely makes no sense as her main power is to make all Command spendings permanent and that would not stack so the second one would be rather useless.

Yep thats me from Pulp City boards

I've been keeping an eye on the game forever.  Its just started hitting the shelves locally and although I was waiting for full English transalation... well I caved in.  ;D

I know its a skirmish game and I personally do not like fielding the same sculpt in the force more than once, but troopers are common units and I expect to field a few of them.  I was hoping the damned of flesh would come in 2 or more scuplt variants for variety sake.  I'd prefer if they kept Officers, Troopers and independants seperately. That way if there is a figure I can field more than once  I can buy them and not have left over figures that I need to trade away.  Odds are everyone else will be doing the same thing.Jim

I saw the damned of flesh during the GenCon Paris and to be honest it is composed of so many parts (legs, arms, details) it will be easy to vary the assembly to create different miniatures.

Keep in mind it was the last release for the demons. It has to include the mourner at the same time as the demon of flesh.

Thanks to Bertrand Benoit the concept of the demon of flesh really differs from the illustration as you may see it into the rulebook.

This demons still presents many legs and arms but its body is not any more this massive amount of flesh but something lighter.

As I previously explained, there is so many different parts you may vary the position and so create a really dynamic miniature.

And no, no pictures of the wave 6 allowed during the GenCon (Unfortunately JAG managed very well to avoid any leak)

It is on purpose if the picture is so small.

As you probably know Asmodee uses to introduce every new wave by posting concept arts, greens and painted models on the official web-site weeks before the release date.

They would like to keep it secret before this moment so you should not be abble to see any picture of this wave for the moment.

Why do you think I selected the "Voyageuse" as avatar ?  :D

More seriously when I read my comment I realise I haven't been fair with Asmodee.

Geof's points is not to play with you by keeping things secret but to avoid problems.
Indeed as he previously explained French players are perfectionist and expect the best from Asmodee. (You should read the critics everytime a new miniatures is revealed: some comment are really harsh, limit disrespectful)

As prevention Geof prefers to be sure the quality of the pictures showing a new miniature is good enough to reflect the fantastic job Thomas David and JAG are producing. This way he limits negative feedback, even he he appreciate there will be some anyway.

In conclusion you should blame French players rather than Asmodee, even if I know Geof is most certainly pleased to make you upset
