Ok, first of all this game is absolutely as wonderful as I thought it would be and my friend who runs the game store we play at who I played against thought the same thing. I played Sarresens and he played Lost Ones and it really came down to the end of it with two of my Sanctified Warriors and a very wounded Pillar finishing off his slinger to win the game. Bran is a complete monster and it took a very concerted effort on my part of genie, 2 pillars, my officer, and a sanctified warrior with aura's, support, and charisma to take him down!! Support is so huge in this game, and the command/order mechanic is so well done. We can't wait to play again. We did have a few questions, probably all easy....
1. Does an artillery servant move at the same time as the artillery launcher or as they are seperate models? we played them that they activate seperatley.
2. Aura's.. specifically the genie's. He has two temporary aura's and a permanent aura. By reading the aura's section, it seems that from the start of the game until he dies, his permanent aura is just always on no matter what, correct? And by that token, he can then use one of his temporary aura's during his activation, so effectively having two aura's going on at the same time?
3. Commands and Aura's don't affect moving/shooting/fighting unless it's a concentrating or focusing command/aura correct? So you can cast an aura or a command and still move and fight and such.
4. Lancer, he has 3 orders but they do not say whether they are a temporary or permanent command loss, do I assume it's temporary?
5. Lastly (i think), if Nazir uses In cha'Allah and dies, does the DEF bonus expire or does it still stay on until the models that haven't been attacked yet are attacked? btw, this is a very tempting command to burn early in the game since it doesn't expire until the models are attacked.
Again, I absolutely love this game and am going to have a hard time waiting for the English version to release :)
Citation1. Does an artillery servant move at the same time as the artillery launcher or as they are seperate models? we played them that they activate seperatley.
You were right. But keep in mind that the Slinger cannot shoot if she is not in base-to-bas with the Worm Bearer ^^.
Citation2. Aura's.. specifically the genie's. He has two temporary aura's and a permanent aura. By reading the aura's section, it seems that from the start of the game until he dies, his permanent aura is just always on no matter what, correct? And by that token, he can then use one of his temporary aura's during his activation, so effectively having two aura's going on at the same time?
The "no shoot" aura is...well permanent, always in play, until Chams dies ;). The two other auras needs to be activated thank to a Concentration action. You can concentrate only one time during your activation, so you cannot activate both during the same round.
Citation3. Commands and Aura's don't affect moving/shooting/fighting unless it's a concentrating or focusing command/aura correct? So you can cast an aura or a command and still move and fight and such.
Arf, it is a bit more complex. You should pay attention to the keywords in the aura/order description.
Free : take nothing, the mini can act normally.
Active : mini need to concentrate to use it. It can move normally, but cannot contact an ennemy model at the end of its movement. If the mini were engaged, it gets various malus ( -1 DEF and Combat). Worst: if the mini state changes ( get Hurt, for example) at the end of the fight, the order/aura has failed ( but you lose all CMD points required).
Exhausting : no movement. Big Malus of you are engaged in melee and the mini cannot retaliate ! Invoking a lemure is an exhausting action.
Citation4. Lancer, he has 3 orders but they do not say whether they are a temporary or permanent command loss, do I assume it's temporary?
Note that Scorpion Sting can only be used twice per turn ( recent errata). All command loss is temporary ( permanent loss is always strictly underlined :D).
Citation5. Lastly (i think), if Nazir uses In cha'Allah and dies, does the DEF bonus expire or does it still stay on until the models that haven't been attacked yet are attacked? btw, this is a very tempting command to burn early in the game since it doesn't expire until the models are attacked.
The DEF bonus remains in play, until the model is attacked.
Thanks for that! At least we know we were doing pretty much all that right :)
