Hello to anyone in the UK ;D

Simple Miniature Games are shipping in Hell Dorado as we speak and will have the full range including this week's releases by next week. It will of course be the French edition but there is enough info, support and translations out there at the moment to now support the game as a viable retail project.

With any luck my trade customers will pick this game up straight away and you'll see it in the shops by next weekend.  (the 9th March) I'll update you with a list of stockists once it's come in and the orders are despatched.

We'll be linking here regularly as we will need to get a thread sorted with ALL the latest English rules / card downloads so watch out for plenty of new players coming this way. The products will be labelled with instructions to visit this forum for the translation and downloads

In addition we could do with a couple of demo guys (or girls) for salute, we've manged to get an extra 6 foot table and I'm busy building a Hell Dorado board which will be a desert hell with a shipwreck and skeleton Dragon (if you've seen Pirates - worlds end you'll know what I mean) for the show. I've got my Stray Ones painted and we'll just need an extra army or 2  for the day.

I'll Keep You updated as much as I can on the progess and new stuff.
Graham (Simple Miniature Games)

HI Gordon - Excellent - if you want to jump table at Salute that would be great. We have loads of cover for Infinity. I'm sure we'll get a couple of other guys to help you out on the day as well. Shame I've got to work on the stand or I'd love to play games of Hell Dorardo all day! (and Infinity for that matter)  ;D

I'm looking forward to getting the rest of these mini's into the UK as the ones I've got so far are superb and it looks like it's going to be a great range.

Thanks
Graham

Hello Graham is carlos by the way. I'm playing at Gordon's tomorow  will let him know about the demo as well  as he is  really into Helldorado  as well

Fernando  from CB is staying with us  and will be at Salute , but he may as well  told you already .. we got the Ball rolling with the guys  ,it seen you gonna have  a few of us  for the demoing ... the guys from Milton  I believe will be running  introductory demos   and we  will be running a massive  multi player  demo game .. we have the  table finished, enough for a 6X4 city terrain  all multi level  building  with  accesible  rooms  and will have all the faction on display.

as we are 4 from london  and I think 3 from  Milton I think we can  squeze another game for demoing  and Helldorado is a perfect one ...  thing that will help a lot is having the fan translated cards printed  into english.
and I dont think we need a big table for it  as the normal zise is 30''X30''  a few pieces of terrain  and ''Voila''

Hello Carlos - Gordon PM'd me but my software was playing up so I just replied on the board.

We have extra space at Salute for Hell Dorado so it won't impact on Infinity.

So what do you think is best for Hell Dorado at Salute? - Small games (we can use the 2x2foot Ziterdes boards) or a big join-in multi-player? or a mix of both.

We have room to do one multi-player on a 4x3foot baord and then still have a mini-game on a 2x2 board beside it juts for Hell Dorado.  I'll try and get on the Infinity Forum later so we can get everything confirmed for that. We'll stick to Hell Dorado here so we don't upset anyone.

I'll have 2 armies done Stray Ones and TBA (starter boxes only) so they can be used for intro games on the day.

Salute will be a good Intro to the UK for Hell Dorado and should get us lots of new players. This forum will become an important place as everyone will be directed here for information and translations.

Nice to hear from you Carlos,  ;D and I'll see you at Salute

Cheers
Graham

No  problem  :D.  I think we should keep it to  the leter of the rules ,small tables  30x30  will do fine
I have some printed  terrains pieces from this forum that can be used to explain one of the crucial aspect of the game that  it is not  translated yet ,terraformation. but any piece of terrain  you have arround  will help as we can assing a value  for it on  the day ...
me and gordon have all the current releases,  well gordon have the demons and I have the rest  :-[ :D ,
with  your two factions and gordon Demons and probably  sarracens and a few mercenaries we will have enough to show off .
 see you at Salute

Already got my Demons and as soon as some money transfers into my Paypal I`ll be ordering some more.

I`m also very tempted to get a second box set to loan to play against.  That way I can do a little bit of demoing at Fanboy.

Thanks for the info Graham.

Hopefully it is heading to stores now/soon, I placed some pre-orders with Arcane and I'm itching to get my hands on them.

Thanks for the info...

Having ordered the global wave in France I wandering to know how much I would save if I had made my order directly in UK.

Surprisely it was more expensive via this shop than via my current dealer including shipping charge.

Now I just expect the prices will stay stable when euro becomes stronger and stronger...

Anyway it is nice to see a local shop...it means more players and more fun !

That's interesting, something for me to bear in mind for the future especially as I had great service from the Grand Blup. It will be much easier to persuade friends to buy from a UK shop than a French one though (plus supporting UK business is good).

I also had great services from this French shop (good prices, fast delivery, perfect communication) so I am quite reluctant to change now.

No offense but I would be more than happy to make business with UK dealers if they could propose the same quality at the same price. Unfortunately it is currently not the case...

Unfortunately the price of the Euro, discount from Asmodee and bulk shipping charges from France all mean that the prices are not as we would like them to be and they should be about 10% cheaper - and will be if the £pound picks up against the Euro again.

We have had to go with a RRP in the UK that we know we can actually afford to do without making a loss (we make no profit on the main boxes unless the exchange rate improves). At least this way the prices remain stable and there will be plenty of shops in the UK able to stock, demo and promote the range even if it is slightly more expensive than from a foreign mail order source.

We can only hope as we continue to grow the range through the retailers we can obtain a better discount from Asmodee and the exchange rate gets back to the 1.4 /1.45 stage  - if this happens we can start dropping the prices  :). Compared to most places we are on a par.

Will there be any possibility to buy starter figures as singles in the future? Judging by some of the responses I got on the UKCORD forum, there are a fair number of players and painters who would jump into the game if they could just get some of the troops and independents they really want rather than whatever comes in the box.

... of course there is a risk of sitting on some less popular figures but with a price scheme offset to take their desirability into account this could prove a useful scheme to discourage customers from purchasing from abroad. What I mean is that if you can't compete on price alone then added service is where the answer may be found.

I have to admit I`ve been tempted to buy the Demon starter again for the spares.  I`m sure I could ebay off the Asaliah to a painter.

Buying as singles would be nice though.

You can still get the singles using the Prima Materia tournament points but we`re yet to see if those are coming to the UK or not.
