Titre: My Marriage is in trouble - now fully painted
Posté par: Metropolis le Mars 29, 2008, 23:25:30 PM
Have just finished painting my Westerners + Gotz & Azailis - these miniatures are such a joy to paint that I haven't been able to leave them alone for the past week. My wife gave me 24 hours notice that I had better quit my painting table or I'd be in trouble. I'll post pictures when she goes out next tuesday!

Sometimes it is like being a junkie.

I never had those ultimatums from my wife, but I used to sneak behind her back to buy mini's

It was like hiding a crack habit!!! ::)

I had that once.  "Its either the games that go or me!".  I didn`t get rid of the games.  She backed down.

Happy ending I guess.

Please post some pics!  What are the chances your wife actually leaves you for games and minis?  It's not like it's hookers or gambling!

yeah ive been in trouble with the missis numerous occasions for spending days at a time utterly absorbed in gaming/painting/PC etc. shes never given me an ultimatum but maybe thats because i can now tell how far i can push her before she blows up at me for something.

when will they learn that wargames is just far more interesting than anything they have to say.  ::)  ;D

Spent all day with her today - well it is her birthday!!

She didn't threaten to leave me or anything - just said I need to get my priorities right. I took it as "you need to adjust the allocation of resources to items on your priority list". All she would have to do is open my games room and let my large and enthusiastically bouncy puppy loose in there for a while....

I prefer to think of it as an obsession rather than an addiction - but that's probably just denial. De Clemetis would say that I am probably just one crisis away from the pe-contemplative stage. Now if my FLGS doesn't get wave 5 in...

Mine used to paint with me.. now she just tolerates my hobby  :)  I have bought less and have pared my collection of gaming stuff way down to one army for the 4 or 5 games I play now.  She's never threatened, but usually I paint in the living room on one of those raising/lowering hospital type tables (portability rules!), so I still spend time with her even while painting.

The more I think about it the more I`m glad the missus is a mercenary.

"Mind if I invite some gamers over this Sunday?"

"Sod off!  They all smell and you never pay me any attention!"

"I`ll buy you a present."

"So, what shall I make you all for tea?"

;D
