After playing at the Fanboy 3 tournament on Saturday I came to a very important conclusion. Hell Dorado needs scenarios. The points system is all well and good but is a bit too "Kill everything in the middle of the table" for my needs.
Hell Dorado needs scenarios.
Make them.
I`ll post a few myself and I`d be grateful for any playtesting and ideas.
we could convert some old confrontation classics such as the portal (very apt for hell fluff actually) just dont make it as crap as it was in conf :D
We played one where one team comes into port on a boat to resupply, and is attacked by the other team, it was westeners onthe boats and demons holding the port, we had to put supplys all over the team and the ones nearer the demon edge were more points.
It broke down into a big fight near the boats with both sides saying"if hes got no figures left then i win full points, right". So next time i think a turn limit and poss different start points
Wasn't the portal the one where you need heads? I loved that one.
It's similar to Funeral Rites, the one on the Helldorado site. Which I should finish up translating. I'll get that up today.
There's two fairly simple ones, revolving around board control. One gives VPs for claiming the centre zones, while the other gives 1VP per zone for holding the 3 zones on your side of the board, 2 for the middle zones and 3 for the zones on your opponent's side.

Reminds me of Dreamblade.
I think (although its been a long while) that you got ..
5 4 3
1 2 1
0 0 0
... points a turn for the requisite table parts. Might be an interesting scenario. Would have to risk spreading out to take and hold and would have to defend your own places too.
Mmm ..
All right, Funeral Rites has been translated and is posted in it's own thread.
