With the nice Earth Elemental coming out this month the question has been going around who can hire mercs. Can any faction hire any merc and any number of mercs?
yes, the only limits are :
- limits for a same troop / independant are applied as described in the character card ("limité X" (limited to X the same troop) or "illimité" (unlimited)).
- A mercenary officer cannot command troops/independant from other factions, except having the special ability "prestige x", where X is the faction you can command (example : Don Quichotte and Rossinante may command troops from Westerners ans Sarrasens.)
Fenris is right ;D. There are, though, additionnal rules :
The commandment points brought by mercenaries officers and independents can only be used to enlist mercenary soldiers, except if the officer has the "Prestige" abilities.
All mercenaries can work for any faction, there are no restriction at all. ;)
