New Rules

1. Binary Command

The Immortals faction introduces a new notion: the binary command
The CMD value of a unit could now be followed by one of these two symbols:  ? or ?
Use markers with two different colours to represent the CMD points of your company. To make it simple we will talk about Dark markers and Light markers.
When the CMD value of a unit is followed by the symbol ?, the CMD points it brings to the company are necessarily Dark
When the CMD value of a unit is followed by the symbol ?, the CMD points it brings to the company are necessarily Light
When the CMD value of a unit is not followed by any symbol the color of CMD points this unit brings to the company can be Dark or Light, at the player's discretion (Note: the player is free to split the CMD value in two different colours)
During the Upkeep phase, after the companies reset the CMD points to their base value, there are three possibilities:
 - The player has the same number of Dark and Light CMD points: No particular effect, the Enlightened and Bloodthirsty abilities are inactive
 - The player has more Light CMD points than Dark CMD points: during the next turn the Enlightened ability is considered to be active for all units having it (the Bloodthirsty ability is inactive)
 - The player has more Dark CMD points than Light CMD points: during the next turn the Bloodthirsty ability is considered to be active for all units having it (the Enlightened ability is inactive)
When the player spends a permanent CMD point he is free to choose its colour.
When a unit with a Command score of at least 1 is killed, first remove the CMD markers of the same colour as its CMD colour (if any). If there are not enough markers from this colour, complete the loss with the other colour.
The CMD markers recovered during the Upkeep phase must be from the pool of the temporarily spent markers. It is not possible to swap the colour of these markers by using permanently spent markers.
If a unit has to spend CMD points from a specific colour to activate an order, and if there are not enough available markers from this colour, then it cannot use the order.

2. New state

Cursed x/y
The affected unit must re-roll x dices which indicate a hit in a melee combat during y turns.
The unit stumbles, nearly drops their weapon and seams incapable to efficiently fight. During an attack the affected unit must re-roll x of their dices that indicated a hit (other previous re-rolls included). These rerolls are cumulative with the ones  already imposed by the Man-at-arms ability. It is impossible to re-roll more than 5 dices.
If y is equal to 1, this state disappears at the end of the current turn.

3. Key words for the lemures

Residual
The lemure remains in play even after it released its spell

Vanished
The lemure is removed from play after it released its spell

4. New special abilities

Cannon fodder
if the model is included up to X times in a company, these models are considered as being of the same faction as the company's officer (for company composition purposes).

Terrifying
Any enemy unit must spend 1 CMD point to get in contact with units with this ability. On the other hand, enemy units do not have to spend CMD points if it is engaged by a unit with this ability.
Lemures are not affected by this ability.

Whirlwind attack
If ia unit with this ability inflicts damage to an enemy unit in melee combat, it also inflicts half of these damage points to every enemy unit in contact (PR applies).

Enlightened
Command effect - Dominantion CMD ?
When this ability is active the unit gains the Fanatic ability

Loyal
This unit may only be enrolled by an officer of the same faction. It may not be enrolled by an officer from another faction, even via the Prestige ability.

Prescient
A player who has at least one unit with this ability can select the nature of a zone of conflict on the battlefield rather than randomly determining it. If both players qualify, the player with the larger number of Prescient units gets to use pick the nature of a zone of conflict. If both players have the same number of Prescient units, the player who has the dominance chooses.

Grudge x
The unit cannot be enrolled by an officer from the designated faction, even via the Prestige ability.

Bloodthirsty x
Command effect - Domination CMD ?
When this ability is active the unit gains the Teleportation ability and its MVT value is increased by x.
When this ability is active the officer may spend up to 3 CMD points for a Vae Victis order targeting a unit with this ability (rather than 2 CMD points normally) .

They are out.  I ordered mine from Maelstrom Games off Ebay out of the UK (best prices I've seen and free shipping worldwide).  Got an e-mail Friday, they were sent on their merry way.  Hopefully I should have them about the middle of next week if previous shipments are any indication.

Hello all of you,
since a week I've been owning the Immortals starter set now, I don't speak any French so I'm dependent on this translations. First of all a big thank you to all of you who translate the rules.
One question is left in my mind it's about the Binary Command. I haven't played any Hell Dorado game yet, so it could be, that I've missunderstood something^^. Now the question: Models, for example Cheng Xiao-Chen, with no specific CMD, neither black nor white, can they (or me^^) chose on the beginning of each turn, what colors their CMD points have or do I decide it once per game on the beginning?
Hope you can help me or at least understand what I mean^^

Greets
Christian

Hi,
You have to choose the color of all "neutral CMD" at the beginning of the game and play with this choice all the game.
But I think that if Cheng Xiao-Chen die you can choose  how you permanently loose his CMD.

Hope this help

Blast, lost my iniative throw on the answer...  ;D

Actually I don't thing the question of Cheng dying has been answered. I would suppose your answer would be the correct one, but logically thinking he would lose as much dark and light command that he originally had and if there isn't enough of one kind, you lose the one kind left available. BUT, with temporary command included, this would be a terrible pain for bookkeeping, so I'd go with your interpretation.

Posté par: 19-Goethe-91 le Avril 22, 2009, 16:49:29
First of all thank you for the answers.
One more question, just to check if I understood everything: So when I choose the neutral CMD at the beginning of the game, could I also choose Cheng Xiao-Chen tp produce either only black or only white or only mixed CMD, so that he doesn't produce any "neutral" CMD...?

Greetings
Christian

Titre: Re : Immortals - specific rules and profiles
Posté par: Silveri le Avril 22, 2009, 17:23:37
Cheng doesn't produce any "neutral" CMD (if I understand correctly). He produces either dark or light and the ratio is decided by the player at the beginning of the game. Yes, he can produce all-dark or all-light if the player so decides.

Titre: Re : Immortals - specific rules and profiles
Posté par: 19-Goethe-91 le Avril 22, 2009, 21:36:02
Ah, ok, I'm beginning to understand^^
So none of the Immortals produces "neutral" CMD and for all CMD points with no specific colour I have to decide at the beginning of the game which colour they have...? (Hmm, would be easier if I spole French, then I could read the rules on my own...^^)

Greetings
Christian

Official translated cards are in the works. But here are the translated stats you asked for.

ORDERS
Perfidious possession □
Passive • 1 permanent CMD • Unique
Li Tsu Tsin targets one Trooper or Independent enemy unit she is in contact with.
The two players secretly bet a number of permanent CMD points (players may check how many CMD points the adversary has left before making the bet). Then the stakes are revealed simultaneously. If Li Tsu Tsin wins the targeted unit is Controlled until the end of the game. If her adversary wins nothing happens.
In any case the CMD bet by Li tsu Tsin’s adversary is definitively lost. On her side Li tsu Tsin loses the CMD points she bet or half of the CMD her adversary bet (round up), whichever is higher.
It is possible to bet 0 CMD points.
If the target is a Trooper directly compared the bets. If the target is an Independent each CMD point spent by its owner counts as two for the comparison.

Vae soli

Vae victis

AURA
Tormented spirits
Permanent • 8-fathom radius
All ally units inside the area of effect gain the Whirlwind attack ability but the damage inflicted via this ability is inflicted to all the units (allies and enemies) in contact with the affected unit.
Units that already have the Whirlwind Attack ability are not affected by this Aura.

SPELLS
Soul exchange
Remanent
Remove one of the Troopers of your Company with a medium base size and a value of less than 20 points from the battlefield and place it aside as soon a Lemure carrying this spell is invoked.
The Trooper previously put aside automatically replaces one unit in contact with the Lemure when it releases its Spell. The target can only be a Trooper with a medium base size and a value of less than 20 points. It is placed aside with its current status. The Trooper who appeared into the game is considered as not yet activated.
The player who just lost his Trooper now controls the Lemure (previous activations during this turn are taken into account). He could now use it to enter into contact with another Trooper to make another exchange.
A Trooper who has already been affected by this spell cannot be chosen as a target again. If the Lemure is killed when "carrying" a Trooper, the warrior is also killed.

Smile of the Lady
Remanent
As long the Lemure is in contact with an allied unit, all the CMD costs of the Orders (permament or not) received by this unit are divided by two (round up). Also the restrictions relative to the color imposed by the Order can be ignored. As soon as the Lemure gets into contact with its ally, it stops being activated independently and moves at the same time as the unit in contact.

The projected model is immediately moved by the player who controls Chan Lee, regardless of terrain or intervening models, to a maximum of 6 fathoms outside of any control zones and no contact with an enemy. At the end of this projection the Projected enemy is Stunned.
