FORUM CHARTER – LES CHIENS DE GUERRE

Preamble

All users of this forum must read and understand this Charter. By posting any contribution, you implicitly accept the rules outlined herein.

Messages posted express the views and opinions of their authors. The administrators and moderators of the forum "Les Chiens de Guerre" cannot be held responsible for their content (except for messages posted by themselves) and do not guarantee their accuracy.

You agree not to post any message that is obscene, insulting, homophobic, defamatory, threatening, or any other content that may violate applicable laws. Messages inciting hatred or racism are prohibited on this forum; they will be removed by an administrator, and their authors will be permanently banned. Messages or references of a political nature are also prohibited.

General Guidelines

To maintain a comfortable reading experience, we remind you that SMS-style language is not allowed on this forum. Similarly, an effort in spelling is also required. Posting at the beginning of a topic "my spelling is terrible, I know" is neither an excuse nor a sign of goodwill. It's merely a sign of laziness and disregard. A genuine effort is much preferred. Feel free to use automatic spell checkers available through any competent search engine (e.g., open office ). Similarly, the always-useful lexilogos.

List proposals are welcome, provided they are somewhat explained: present your gaming approach, indicate what you believe are the strengths and weaknesses of the list. While critiques, good or bad, are welcome, they must be substantiated and justified. Grand assertions based on a single game, theoretical game approach, a brief overview of the rules, or any other superficial basis will not be tolerated.

For English-speaking users wishing to participate in the French-speaking forum, a message in English is tolerated, provided it is preceded by its French translation, even if done using an automatic translator (e.g., Reverso). Similarly, responses to such messages should be written primarily in French. An English translation within the same message is acceptable.

In the same spirit, we ask you to argue your responses to a minimum. While a one-liner may sometimes be justified (a simple answer to a simple question, for example), it is generally preferable to elaborate on your intervention. Thus, unnecessary one-liners ("it's cool," "I like it," "I don't like it," "hi there," etc.) or, worse, responses limited to a smiley or a "+1" should be avoided (euphemistically speaking).

To improve the forum's readability and to allow everyone, newbie or veteran, to follow our discussions, take the time and habit to write out the full names of miniatures, actions, game terms, without resorting to initials or more or less obscure nicknames. Similarly, whether in your messages or their titles, use color, uppercase letters, scrolling text, etc., only when truly necessary or relevant.

Also, anyone may naturally want to complete one of their interventions. It is then preferable to use the "MODIFY" function, available as a button at the top of your message.

The primary purpose of a forum is exchange; it is normal for discussions to evolve as members contribute. However, be careful not to go off-topic, or consider opening a new topic if your remark or question falls outside the scope of the current thread.

Before opening a new topic, especially concerning rules points, we thank you for using the forum's "SEARCH" function. If your search proves unsuccessful, or if the topic found does not fully answer your question, do not hesitate to open a new topic, specifying your prior search efforts, to avoid redundant responses.

Finally, our forum has been structured to offer you the greatest clarity possible; we ask you to use clear, concise titles if possible (without resorting to more or less quirky formulas intended to draw attention...) and to post your messages in the appropriate section.

Tournaments and Events

To reach as many people as possible, and always with this concern for clarity, we ask you to systematically include the following information in your announcements:

- Exact date and precise address
- Exact format (point value)
- Painting requirements (fully painted, just the officer, etc.)
- Number of available spots
- Entry fee
- Schedule and number of rounds

You are free to be more specific, provided the essential information listed above is present.

Buying & Classifieds

The Buying & Classifieds section is reserved for individuals only. You may only sell, buy, or trade products directly related to the Hell Dorado game (miniatures and books). Transactions conducted are the responsibility of the parties involved; "Les Chiens de Guerre" disclaims all responsibility in case of disputes between the two parties. We will endeavor to report any proven cases of fraud.

In the title, include a tag [buy], [sell], [trade], etc. An ad without a tag will be deleted.

To facilitate transactions, we ask you to indicate in the first message the exact condition of what you are selling (new or not, assembled or not, painted or not, etc.), the price of what you are selling, as well as the transaction conditions (in-person, via postal service, etc.).

If you wish to offer your painting services, present your experience and at least one photo of a Hell Dorado miniature painted by you. Posting your rates is prohibited; inquiries will be made via private message.

Photos

Photos are welcome on our forum, whether to showcase your latest creations, illustrate a tournament report, or other purposes. You must host your photo online (via your internet service provider or a free host, like Imageshack) and respect the forum's dimensions, namely not exceeding a width of 800 pixels; height does not matter. However, avoid posting numerous photos of different views of your latest miniature, out of consideration for members without high-speed connections. In the case of multiple views or pieces, use thumbnails or links.

Signatures and Avatars

Banners and other images of any kind are prohibited. Links are always tolerated, as long as they do not violate other articles of the Charter. The signature is limited to four lines of plain text, including line breaks. Modifications (size, color, italics, etc.) are tolerated as long as they do not hinder the site's readability.

Avatars are automatically resized by the forum, so their size does not matter. However, ensure that your choice does not violate other forum rules and avoid selecting animated images.

Finally, as a conclusion, we remind you that moderation power is reserved... for moderators. You may report to a moderator any message that seems to violate this Charter, but only they are authorized to intervene. Thus, "vigilante" actions are prohibited.

Any violation of the Charter will result in the deletion of the message.

Thank you for your efforts,

The "Les Chiens de Guerre" Team
