i am going to introduce my gaming club soon to Helldorado.
To play a fantasygame besides some futuristic stuff.

Are the starters for Westerners and the Saracens balanced enough for the first games?

If you have other suggestions, it wont be the problem :)

I would say that most of the starter are quite balanced, so I would say yes.

One stuff is the the Djinn with the "you can't shoot me" effects, eats some parts of the shooting skills of the westerner, even if you should have some occasions to shoot anyway, juste no the same way as you could agains demons or losts.

So I would say yes, all starters are fine, but maybe not the best one to play together. I would say it's just the only couple I would not run together.

Concerning your question :

yes, these two starters are balanced enought to play one against the other.

The two others starters well balanced are Demons and Losts. These play well together.

Concerning the 5th starter (Immortals) it is too powerfull (well used) to face these 4 first starters. Indeed, the Immortal starter is made to be able to face others factions that have more units that Immortals (which are prety young).
But begining by Immortals give a fine way to learn about their particular strategy ;)

As Eusèbe said before, the 4 firsts starters are as well balanced to play together.
My preferance is :

Demons <-> Westerners
Losts <-> Saracens

But the main is to choose the faction you like ;)

Hah, in this case i need to paint more of my demons :)

But back to the Saracen and Westerners matchup.
The Djinn eats up a lot of the shooting you mentioned. Is there a good way to substitute him with another miniature?
But for introducing friends he serves as an eyecatcher too ;)
Or maybe reducing the amount of shooting the Westerners have taking Doppelsöldners is a good way?

I am bound to this matchup, because of painted miniatures.
My demons still need some work. :)

Well if it's for introducing friends, just let them take the sarrasens, and it should be fine. The player will do mistakes, and so the other will have the opportunity to turn some sarracen into cheese, it's fine.

And don'ot forget Helldorado is meant to play with scenarios. It helps a lot to balance the game.
