Question: English is not viable in the French part of the forum, my French is "non existent", so what to do

- if I want to comment some pic there?
- I want to post something there?

Is cross-posting (e.g. linking to the original French post in a thread in the English forum) ok for the admins?

Just curious ...

I was thinking about it too. I guess the best thing to do is translate your post with an online english-french translator and pray it is understandable in french xD

I also think it's the best thing to do. Just let your original message in English down.

Have you tried those things?  Most likely is that it converts your text into something harmful or illegible ;D

Only if you are lucky the translation will sound like some tarzan speech, but normally it only makes the reader feel the need to gouge his eyes out  ;D

I've found reverso to be a very efficient tool for non-French speakers who'd like a quick but understandable translation.

As an example, the above sentence gives me this:
"J'ai constaté que Reverso est un outil très efficace pour les orateurs(speakers) non-français qui voudraient une traduction rapide mais compréhensible"

which really is rather good, if not quite the most elegant way to put it in French. And much, much better than babelfish (seriously, the same sentence through babelfish did make me feel like gouging my eyes out).

Thanks Mathieu, that one works really good from FR => EN - a bit of monkey speech here and there but overall very clear and understandable translations

Hello and welcome.

Yes, this is the right way to do  ;D
There is a fine site to find translators : Lexilogos.com.

When posting in french section, or MP french speaking one's, thanks to double your message : first in english, then whith a online translation (at least).

Have fun  ;)
