Is the Halberd wielding Pillar of Faith that much better?

I was just wondering if people think that the Pillar with the Halberd is that much better than the Sword and Shield Version?

His Order is cheaper, he has better armour and because of the high domination of the saracens is likely to get to throw his knives, damaging something?

I prefer the Sword and Shield pillar and a Lancer to the Halberd wielding Pillar

I'm also in the camp of the sword and shield pillar.  I've been able to be much more efficient with him than the halberd model.

The Hallberd version is much stronger than the other :

- his unique order that makes him a tank : 5 DEF and 3 PR, that's the toughest I ever seen. That cost him 2 CMD permanently, but honestly, I saw yesterday a saracen army with 10 CMD, so that's not a problem to spend 2 in such munchkin order  ;D

- his damage table : a two-handed weapon wich is strong as normal (3 to 10 damage, eager), but without the inconvenients (cumbersome).

- his other advantages : Bodyguard, fierce, 12 10 PV and 1 CMD...

I believe there are very powerful abilities for 27 pts...  ;)
In five games against saracens with the Lost, I killed him only 2 times, and the luck have been with me  ;D

Only 10, and wounded at 4. This is the weak point of both Pillars: they are vulnerable to effects that ignore Protection. Against Asaliah, a single Lémure can wound one.

they are only humas after all ....
the hallberd guy still have good uses,  being that last line of defense protecting   the leader of the company,  or in conjuction with any other  model to  stop  ,in their track , all the big hitter the rest of the armies have.
and  having  two of them  will improve  the  life spam  of  the models they  are protecting.

But Fenris, the sword and shield version has all the same advantages and already has an ARM of 3. Plus he can wound /kill weaker models without them fighting with his daggers, and can get a better CBT of 6

The daguer pillar does not have 3 Protection AND 5 Defense. It's the combination of the 2 that makes the halberd wielder very hard to kill. Plus the halberd is much more efficient in hand-to-hand thanks to his better damage grid. The daguer pillar will only deal slightly more damage than a basic santified warrior once in melee.

Anyway, there is no point in comparing the two : they don't have the same price, they don't have the same usage, the only thing they share is their name and Bodyguard.

I agree that the halberd one is good and wasnt suggesting that the other had DEF 5, i know that he has DEF 4. Just saying that i prefer the one with daggers as i think he's more versitile and cheaper
