well the game is set in hell and traditionally hell is where demons like to take up residence i think the rest is a no brainer...

i think basically its demons are split into factions under several powerful demon lords, they fight each other as well as everyone else. they're not happy about the humans invading their home = they eat their souls blah blah etc.
