Graham at SMG (UK distributors of HD) has offered to sponsor a tournament at this year's Games Expo show in Birmingham on 6th June.

Latest thoughts is 5 rounds at 200 points using 1634 profiles.

Appreciate your thoughts and especially any interest.

UPDATED 26/4/09

The booking system for this event is now online via the Games Expo website http://www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk/hell_dorado.php

SMG have sponsored the event so basically it is £7 for entry to games Expo AND the tournament (normal entry to the show is £7). Places are limited to 8 (unless there is massive demand beyond this). If you want a 2 day ticket then we'll sort out a refund for the tournament entry.

Prizes include Travellers (both types for the winner!) plus a selection of Prima Materiae.

Full details will be on the website on Monday.

Please indicate below if you have entered/intend to enter.

If it goes ahead I'd be interested with my Saracens & could probably drag McCranky across with his Demons.
Hammer'N'Ales Wargames Club, Hucknall, Nottingham. Tuesdays and Sundays for all sorts of fantasy, sci-fi and historical gaming. See here for details.

Is this still going ahead? I might be interested - gives me an excuse to paint my Immortals, if they'll be allowed.

grendhal

Interest from me if I can motivate a few others around here (Canterbury) to travel up.

This event is now CONFIRMED for Saturday 6th June. I'll start to work on the details and will post something here soon.

Entry £10 including entry to the show.

In addition to the Traveller figures sent by Darth Swen  ;) I also hope to have some vouchers to spend at SMG's stall at the show (enlarge your army!) and some Prima material, plus art cards/strategic advantage cards.

We'll almost definitely be using the terraforming rules. Will be speaking to Steve who organised the last HD tournament in Cranfield for some advice.

good to know. as I love using them   the game is not as fun if we keep them out.  we could give you  a hand..

now another questions?

you say we are using  1634 cards.  right?

so it is 1634 rules ?   and 1634 models cards?

can we use the  first profile of the  Vouyagesse  ( the independent one ) ? or  not?
or will the  1635 version allowed ?

grendhal

If we are using 1634 cards, what about the Immortals, are their cards not 1635 or am I missing something?

Clousseau

The reason for specifying 1634 card was that a) they are officially available in English and b) that everyone is used to them.

I know that this means that the Immortals are therefore not eligible, but until everything 1635 is available officially I think that this is the fairest option.

having said all that I'mm willing to be pursuaded to let the Immortals in. I've not tried mine out yet (or even built them all), so don't have any comparisons to make.

Original post has been updated with latest information plus a link to the details and booking system on the UK Games Expo website. I've just sent off the detailed rules, etc, so the website should be updated on Monday.

Would appreciate some advice on length of time for each round and which scenarios to use/avoid.

I'm interested. Thing is, I've already got a weekend ticket - is there a way to enter this tournament without buying another ticket?
